After a few months of craziness I can now report to be living in the Bay Area, San Francisco. We road-tripped west from Toronto stopping at a few great locations such as Chicago, Mount Rushmore, and Yellowstone National Park. We took 6 days to do the trek which included a lot of sightseeing and evening drives. All the pictures were taken in old skool film style so they will be scanned and posted at a later date.

Now I begin the new challenge of finding great people to work with in this neck of the woods. I am looking for someone who wants to work with me in the sales and business development department of Brainpark.

My next plan is to get a pick-up truck and a motocross bike so I can remain an adrenaline junkie and become some form of american

  • Orgdemo_2 Building a company with the core values of transparency, accountability, decentralization, fairness, dignity and choice is no mean feat. Traci Fenton, CEO WorldBlu, knows this challenge well and is throwing another gathering in NY for organizational leaders committed to leading democratic companies.

I had the opportunity to participate in a couple of the recent WorldBlu Councils hosted at Continuum in Boston, and Linden Lab in San Francisco. Both gatherings were outstanding and transformational for me as a person. I came back to work with more than good ideas. I came back changed in my outlook and with solutions to implement that others had pioneered.

This year I am getting to speak at WorldBlu live and share about how technology can be used to transform the workplace and enhance democracy. I am really looking forward to this as I have been experimenting, ranting, and writing about workplace democracy for several years now. This opportunity enables me to combine my beliefs on leadership and my love of technology and engage with some influential thinkers. Hopefully I will see some of you there.

Last week a bunch about 100 of us met at Crush (King St. West) for the second gathering of Founders and Funders hosted by David Crow and Jevon MacDonald.

Rannie was roaming the room as usual and snapped a few interesting pics including this one which looks like I am about to take on Colin from Community Lend. He is Scottish and if you know anything about our history you would know the Irish would never fight a Celt (unless of course they have good reason too)

The event was outstanding. It was one of those evening where you can feel safe and talk. The room was filled with friends and people of like mind. My business partner Bobby was able to make it to this one and helped dispel the rumour that I he only existed on paper...

  • After watching this clip yesterday on Global TV I was tempted to bury it because I look like an over-stuffed turkey. Christine and Sarah at CEO TV did an excellent job and gave Brainpark some great promotion. If you have not seen the clip yet, watch at your own risk. From here on in you will find me at the salad bar...
